So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

John and David on the road in Pittsburgh

My buddy John drove his son David up to the IFBB National Championships in Pittsburg today from North Carolina. David will compete in the Super Heavyweight division and hopes to earn his pro card this year. John just sent me this great picture of them and I had to put it up to commemorate the event.

A plan for the year

Now that we are installed in our apartment for a year or so, I want to make a good plan for getting some things done. Of course, the top item on the list is to get the house built, but we are starting a huge new development effort at Thrive Bioscience that I will be driving, I want to continue my work on GRIME 3, and work on the Mexico houses continues. We also need to spend some time in Mexico with Lorena’s family–which is a true joy. I think I am going to publish some goal dates here to keep myself accountable after I figure out some realistic timelines.

USA 250th birthday

Lorena and I are spending the long, USA 250th anniversary weekend just hanging out together and packing to move to Texas. It is has started off in spectacular way–not so much because we are doing anything out of the ordinary, but because we have been reminded in many very obvious ways that we are blessed by God. And it is not because we are good or deserve anything, but because He is good, loves us. We are going to eat good food, pack some boxes, watch a few videos, and give thanks to God for all He has done for us and our nation.

Reading

I emptied all the books from my bookshelf and packed all the other books for the move after throwing away about half of them. Now, the house has been slow to sell, we have a three day weekend coming up and I have nothing to read. I just ordered a couple of novels from ThriftBooks, but they will not arrive here in time for the weekend. Serves me right for not reserving just one or two books for just this kind of a situation.

First deer of the year

Lorena took this picture from the screen porch this morning. We saw this last year and are glad to have them back.

Lorena’s work station

Lorena got her desk put together and we set up the little Intel NUC for her on it. She is quite pleased.
